Because of pandemic: falling number of football fans in Italy

The number of football fans in Italy has fallen. As out of a survey of opinion research institutes STAGEUP and IPSO, only 24.6 million Italians as football fans - a decline of 2.6 percent compared to the 2019/20 season (25.5 million fans).

According to the survey published by the Gazzetta dello Sport, the decline is mainly due to the football stades closed during the pandemic.

Rekordmeister Juventus Turin remains the club with the largest followers - 8.2 million fans rejects the association for Superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, a decline of seven percent compared to the 2019/20 season.

Atalanta Bergamo for national Robin Gosens can show a fans growth of 19 percent to 350,000 trailers.

From the new season, which starts next Saturday, the stadiums will be filled again with 50 percent fan capacity. The prerequisite is a green pass, ie a vaccine, genuine or negative test proof.
